SRP Engineering Ltd, the engineering firm for construction and environment in the Valais, can look back proudly at 50 years of engineering activities. Founded in 1965 as a two-man company, today it employs 43 people in all with its company headquarters in Brig.
The high level of technical expertise, solid work and innovation have enabled the firm to participate in such complex and spectacular major construction sites such as the Ganter bridge on the Simplon route, the Stalden by-pass bridge, the Metro-Alpin tunnel in Saas-Fee, the Lötschberg Basis tunnel, various power plants (Bortel, Cleuson-Dixence, Nant de Drance and Rhone Oberwald), the Aletsch Campus for the UNESCO World Heritage Exhibition in Naters as well as the successful handling of the rock fall at Randa and other storms in the Upper Valais.
Today SRP Ltd is organised into the four sectors "Building Construction and Support Structures", "Hydraulic Engineering and Energy", "Spatial Planning and Environment" and "Civil Engineering and Infrastructure". The staff at SRP Ltd. include civil engineers, rural and environmental engineers, specialists in renewable energy, construction site managers and civil engineering draftsmen (with EFZ - the Swiss Federal Proficiency Certificate). Training of apprentices is part of a tradition going back many years.
